WE are a not-for-profit group of dedicated volunteers who strive to encourage collaboration and growth within the cycling industry in Alberta and Canada. By building a broad network of business entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and everyday cyclists, we are helping to forge closer ties between industry and government and contributing to the sustainable growth of this exciting industry.
WE are the evolution of the Alberta Bicycle Commuters Conference (ABBCC), and we continue to attract a wider base of cycling enthusiasts and influencers.
WE value and support:
- The biking environment and community in the province of Alberta. We seek out and welcome outside expertise and learned experiences to support the growth of the cycling industry worldwide.
- Bicycles, tricycles, unicycles, you name it. It’s pedal-powered locomotion that sets us apart.
- Cycle tourism, commuting, leisure, recreation, infrastructure, guidelines, awareness, education, and all things that make Alberta a great place to bike.
WE believe that if we work together, we can make the cycling experience better for those already riding and make it more attractive for others to join in. More bike riders leads to a cleaner, safer, healthier, quieter, happier atmosphere, and who doesn’t want that? Alberta Bikes aims to bring together those who ride and those who have some influence over the biking environment in order to establish a plan for better biking and, consequently, better living in Alberta.
WE host an annual conference to gather diverse stakeholders and industry leaders to connect, learn, and collaborate on Alberta initiatives and solutions. Our next conference is in Canmore Alberta, September 17 and 18.
